About Linkwitz
Born in Germany, Siegfried Linkwitz worked as a senior engineer at Telefunken, Siemens and Hewlett-Packard before founding Linkwitz Lab. The Linkwitz–Riley crossover, developed with Russ Riley in 1976, became widely used in multiway electronic crossover systems and an established standard in professional audio.
For more than four decades, Linkwitz pursued a deeper understanding of loudspeaker design and sound reproduction. His commercially produced Beethoven high-end open-baffle system with electronic crossovers received Stereophile’s Loudspeaker of the Year award in 1998.
The LXmini-8 Swan system brings together Linkwitz’s acoustic design principles and Norwegian SEAS drivers developed in collaboration with Olav Mellum Amtzen: the H1600 tweeter and H180 woofer.
